In support of the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH), the Yale School of Public Health Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP) is leading a new Public Health Fellowship Program (PHFP) for students across the state.
The PHFP aims to build interest in public health careers by supporting students in high-quality public health fellowship placements in CT and providing students with $3,500 stipends. The program is open to 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate or graduate-level students enrolled at any accredited academic institution and in any degree program relevant to public health.
Eligible placement sites include CT DPH, local health departments, and community-based public health agencies that work with state or local health agencies in Connecticut.
A field placement can be driven by an eligible public health agency or an eligible student interested in a public health career in Connecticut. Online applications are accepted on a rolling basis, based on availability.
Students with a confirmed field placement experience with an agency can apply at any time. Agencies may apply to PHFP for “pre-approval” of a field placement at any time, or agencies apply along with their selected student.
Fellowships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
