Biography

Darryl Crompton, '76 M.P.H., has had a distinguished career as a social justice and human rights advocate, lawyer, and academic. He has helped numerous non-profit, for-profit, and start-up organizations navigate challenging legal, business, and policy issues. He has served as a reliable and trusted lawyer and advisor to education officials, corporate leaders, and non-profit officials.

Darryl served as Tuskegee University's first General Counsel, Vice President for Legal Affairs, and Vice President for Government Affairs. Earlier, Mr. Crompton was a professor of healthcare law at the University of Alabama in Birmingham for 13 years. Mr. Crompton has served as staff in the California State Senate, the California State Assembly, and the US House of Representatives. Crompton lectures frequently on various legal and policy issues, and has been active in numerous community, charity, and religious organizations, including Leadership Greater Washington. A native of Los Angeles, California, he has degrees from Yale University, the University of California Davis School of Law, and the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently serving a member of the Yale Alumni Association Executive Director’s DEI Working Group. He also serves as a member of the Southeastern Health Equity Council.
