Alumni Spotlight: Charu Gee, MPH ’16, MBA ’16 (Health Care Management)

What is your current job?

I currently work at Ro, a digital health care startup, as a senior manager on the medical operations team.

How did YSPH prepare you for your current work?

In the classroom, YSPH really made me comfortable conducting literature reviews and how to approach problem solving in an evidence-based manner. I also had the ability to explore my joint interest in traditional health care operations and startup life through two different internships as a student, that strengthened my résumé and led to full-time offers.

What advice do you have for current/future students?

Find a way to articulate your interests early and focus your time and energy there – it goes by fast! There is a wealth of resources through mentorship, academic experiences, and connections made through classmates on campus, so it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but if you stay focused on your particular interests, you can really go deep.
