CMIPS Seminar: Maria Fernandez "Designing and Tailoring Implementation Strategies: An Implementation Mapping Approach"

Implementation Mapping offers a structured approach to developing and tailoring strategies aimed at enhancing the adoption, execution, and sustainability of evidence-based interventions. This presentation will explore the fundamentals of Implementation Mapping, which is rooted in the Intervention Mapping framework and augmented by insights from implementation science. We will outline the five key tasks of Implementation Mapping: conducting a thorough implementation needs assessment, defining precise outcomes and objectives, selecting effective theoretical methods and practical strategies, developing comprehensive implementation protocols, and evaluating implementation success. Through real-world examples, attendees will gain insights into how this systematic planning framework facilitates can help ensure that health innovations achieve their intended impact through improved reach, fidelity, and effectiveness, and sustainment in diverse settings. This session aims to empower professionals with the tools to effectively bridge the gap between research and practice, enhancing public health outcomes and health equity.
