Program Manager
Abigail Smith is the Program Manager at the Yale Institute for Global Health. She earned her Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health in 2014 and has since held diverse roles in health policy, community engagement, and program management.
Before joining YIGH, Abby served as a Policy Innovation Analyst for the Governor’s Office in Hawaii, a Clinical Supervisor at Catholic Community Services supporting CPS-involved families and foster youth and worked with HealthCare Access Maryland to develop wraparound services for the reentry population. She also served as the National Director of Health Equity and Community Impact at the American Diabetes Association. Her global health experience includes supporting HIV education and awareness initiatives for youth as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana.
Abby is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) at UNC Chapel Hill, with a research focus on maternal health equity.
