Biography

Monica Chen is a second-year MPH candidate in the Social and Behavioral Sciences department at the Yale School of Public Health. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in 2019 and, prior to attending Yale, worked in quality improvement and research at Boston Children's Hospital's Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center. Her research and professional interests include mental health, health equity and justice, and health education among historically underrepresented groups, particularly Asian American communities. She is also a graduate research assistant for Skyler Jackson's Border Identity Stress Project, which explores certain social identities (e.g., race, gender, sexual orientation) and everyday experiences that shape health and wellbeing.
