Gloria Aidoo-Frimpong

Gloria Aidoo-Frimpong, PhD, MPH,MA, is a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University's Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) under the NIH-supported Yale AIDS Prevention Training Program (Y-APT). Dr. Aidoo-Frimpong has a Ph.D. in Community Health and Health Behavior from the University at Buffalo, a master's degree in international studies, and a Master of Public Health from Ohio University, Athens. Her research focuses on reducing HIV-related health disparities among racial and ethnic minority immigrant populations. Specifically, she studies the role of sociocontextual factors shape HIV prevention behaviors and identifies novel approaches to reach and engage immigrant groups. The nexus of Dr. Aidoo-Frimpong’s research is an emphasis on community involvement, technology, and collaboration. Her work acknowledges communities’ strengths and expertise through community-based participatory approaches and is grounded in their priorities. Other areas of her interest include global health, mixed methods research, the use of technology in research, and sexual and reproductive health.
