The Household Air Pollution Intervention Network (HAPIN) held its third annual meeting in Atlanta, GA October 23-25th, 2018. The HAPIN Trial is an international multi-center study focused on evaluating the effects of a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cooking stove and fuel intervention on health, particularly in countries that rely heavily on solid fuels for cooking and heating. The trial is housed within Emory University, with study sites spread across Guatemala, India, Peru, and Rwanda. Dr. Spiegelman has been on the study’s external advisory board since 2017.
