The LGBTQ+ Public Health Working Group (PHWG) will be holding its first meeting of the 2023-2024 academic year on Monday, September 18th, from 12 to 1pm, via Zoom.

The LGBTQ+ PHWG aims to connect LGBTQ-identifying faculty members, cultivating an affinity space to promote a sense of belonging at YSPH through advocacy, social events, monthly meetings, and seminars. Past and ongoing programs have included a mentorship program with LGBTQ+ YSPH students, advocacy for equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ faculty wishing to build their families, and connecting with related groups around the University.
The group is co-chaired by Donna Spiegelman, ScD, Susan Dwight Bliss Professor of Biostatistics and inaugural Director of the Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science, and John Pachankis, PhD, Susan Dwight Bliss Professor of Public Health and Director of Yale’s LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative.
