Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the tuition fee?

Tuition for the 2024 course is as follows:

  • Industry participants: $4,000
  • Academic/government/non-profit: $3,000
  • LMIC-based participants*: $1,500

All rates include continental breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, welcome dinner, and special dinner.

*LMIC-based participant rate includes accommodations. LMIC participant status can be confirmed with a passport and proof of current residence.

Are hotel accommodations included?

Hotel accommodations are not included (except for LMIC-based participants). A block of rooms has been reserved for course participants at the Graduate Hotel and can be booked separately: Yale School of Public Health Booking Link

Are any prerequisites needed in order to participate in the course?

Participants should be familiar with undergraduate mathematics, including calculus, and basic statistics. Some programming experience is required (see below). Attendees with a strong quantitative background in mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics, or computer science will be able to take advantage of more advanced course topics.

How much programming experience is required?

Students should be comfortable with basic programming concepts and have some experience preferably with R (which will be used in this course) or other flexible programming languages (e.g., Python, Julia, MATLAB).
