Biography

Prof. Prisco PISCITELLI MD PhD, Medical Doctor and Epidemiologist, Specialist in Public Health and Preventive Medicine with PhD in Biology and Biotechnology. He is Professor of Epidemiology at the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at YALE School of PUBLIC HEALTH. He's currently serving as Secretary General of the European Medical Association (EMA), and as Vice President of the Italian Society of Environmental Medicine (SIMA). He has founded the Environmental Health Research Organization in the U.S. and the Spanish Society of Environmental Medicine and Climate Changes (SESMA). Co-founder and Senior Researcher of the UNESCO Chair on Health Education and Sustainable Development, established at Federico II University in Naples. His research focus is represented by the environmental and social determinants of health, primary prevention and epigene as well as healthy nutrition, with a focus on extending the health benefits of Mediterranean Diet to Non-Mediterranean Countries (PLANETERRANEAN DIET project).
