Biography

Dr. Mehul Mehta is a global leader in healthcare innovation, transforming ideas into impactful solutions that advance equitable health outcomes and economic value. His senior executive roles at Albright Stonebridge Group, Partners Healthcare International (now MGB Global Advisory), and Harvard Medical International, along with consulting for McKinsey & Company, academic appointments, and clinical care in multiple countries, showcase his expansive expertise.

Dr. Mehta is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Yale School of Public Health, focused on innovation and AI in healthcare delivery. He has co-founded a novel, distributed healthcare entity, MCCM, which is expanding in Canada in a Public-Private Partnership model. He is an Advisor and Board Member for select companies, hospitals, and non-profits, providing strategic guidance that enables these organizations to leverage AI for improved healthcare outcomes. Dr. Mehta sits on the Advisory Board of a new health care district being developed for the Sovereign of Sharjah, UAE. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Nurses Foundation, helping ideate and establish new programs to reimagine nursing in the US and globally. He also sits on the International Advisory Board of the American Nurses Credentialing Center, contributing to the global standardization of nursing education and practices.

Dr. Mehta is also a Senior Medical Advisor for the Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), founded by the late Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. He recently served as ASG’s Chief Medical Officer and Chair of Health Solutions. During the COVID pandemic, he led the development and delivery of weekly global guidance to multiple organizations. He galvanized a multi-stakeholder response to the devastation caused by the Delta variant in India, rapidly establishing critical genomic sequencing capacity in Mumbai, thereby significantly improving the speed and accuracy of outbreak detection. As a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School since 1997, he has focused on global vision health.

Among his myriad projects and achievements with Partners Healthcare International (now Mass General Brigham Global Advisory) and Harvard Medical International, he has worked in over 33 countries, helping establish transformative hospitals, care delivery systems, and solutions. Dr. Mehta was a key figure in establishing the first internationally accredited, clinically advanced hospital system in Asia. He also played a central role in creating a new Free Zone Healthcare City in Dubai, working directly with the Sovereign’s leadership. He has also helped develop large health care clusters in South Korea and Brisbane, Australia, while serving as Senior Vice President for Strategy at Harvard Medical International. Dr. Mehta served as a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Global Health Institute, where he built a research program on technology in health care, with emphasis on the global impact of AI and machine learning. He helped convene the first Harvard conference on AI in Global Health. He is a frequently invited speaker and panelist at major global conferences, and he regularly publishes and presents on health systems and healthcare innovation.

Dr. Mehta holds a Master of Surgery degree in Ophthalmology and a Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery, & ObGyn (MBBS) with high honors from the University of Bombay. He also has a Master of Arts in Cognitive & Neural Systems from Boston University. He has been part of the Executive Certificate programs at Harvard Business School and MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
