Application Process
Requirements
To be eligible for the Big Data Summer Immersion at Yale , applicants must:
- Be undergraduates at an accredited school or university
- Have an interest in scientific research
- Possess some background knowledge of computing/programming and introductory statistics
- The SIBS support is designed for U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents
- We do have limited number of spots available for international students.
Application Process
To be considered complete, your application must include:
- A personal statement outlining your interest in the program and your future goals (max 2 pages)
- A CV or resume
- Unofficial transcripts
- A list of relevant coursework in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and biology
- A reference letter from a professor or researcher who can speak to your academic abilities and research potential.
Applications for the 2025 Big Data Summer Immersion at Yale program are now closed. Final decisions will be made by April 2, 2025.
Eligibility
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency: SIBS Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- We have limited number of funded slots available for international students through institutional funding.
Selection Criteria
We prioritize applicants who:
- Are sophomore or junior undergraduate students
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement
- Express a strong interest in biostatistics and big data
- Have a solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science
