Biography

Zihan Zhu is a Postdoc Associate in Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, Yale University, where he works under the supervision of Dr. Fan Li. His research lies at the intersection of Bayesian statistics, causal inference, and microbiome data analysis, with a particular focus on developing principled statistical methodologies for high-dimensional, structured, and sparsity-dominated data.

Dr. Zhu received his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Arizona under the supervision of Dr. Xueying Tang, with a minor in Physical Optics. Prior to his doctoral training, he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Mathematical Economics and Accounting from Fudan University. Before joining Yale, Dr. Zhu was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Biostatistics at the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, working with Dr. Liangliang Zhang. During this period, he contributed to multiple interdisciplinary projects in microbiome research, spanning statistical theory, method development, and biomedical applications.
