Biography

Sohani Sirdeshmukh is the Assistant Director of the Office of Global Affairs and Planetary Health at the Yale School of Nursing. She brings over 15 years of experience in global health, infectious diseases research, and science education, with a strong focus on planetary health and sustainable development.

Sohani holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, along with a Post Graduate Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Her background includes HIV clinical trials, data analysis, and developing science and environmental health content for diverse audiences, including youth in low-income communities.

In her role at Yale, Sohani partners with leadership to advance strategic initiatives that promote global health equity and planetary health by fostering international partnerships, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and capacity building. Her expertise in program management, financial stewardship, and communication has been key to securing funding and driving impactful outcomes across multi-sector projects.
