Biography

Alyse B. Sabina, MPH serves as Expert Practitioner for the Integrative Applied Practice Experience for Midcareer Professionals course in the Executive MPH Program at YSPH. She is a consultant with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, working with the Transforming Health and Health Care Systems and Leadership for Better Health program teams. She brings over 20 years of experience in public health and health philanthropy, working at the community, regional, and national levels.

Previously, she served as National Program Director at the Aetna Foundation, where she led national grantmaking strategies and directed the Healthiest Cities & Counties Challenge—a prize competition supporting 50 small to mid-sized cities and counties in advancing cross-sector solutions to improve community health outcomes. Her work included leading initiatives focused on technological innovation and strengthening the evidence base for user-centered design as effective tools for promoting health equity. She also led efforts that generated practice and policy recommendations to help shift traditional health care models toward more coordinated, community-centered care.

A recognized leader in her field, she was honored by Grantmakers in Health as a Terrance Keenan Institute Philanthropy Fellow for emerging leaders in health philanthropy. She is actively involved in local nonprofit boards and committees focused on equity and program impact. She lives in Hamden, Connecticut with her family.
