Governor Ned Lamont was sworn into office in 2019 as the 89th Governor of the State of Connecticut. An alumnus of the Yale School of Management (MBA ’80), Governor Lamont is the first Connecticut Governor in 80 years to get his start as a businessman and job creator. He is the founder of Lamont Digital Systems, a telecommunications company and began his political career as a member of the Greenwich, CT Board of Selectmen and Board of Estimation and Taxation. As Governor, he formed the Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The group consists of leaders from business and public health, working in partnership with the State of Connecticut to determine when and how to reopen the economy and education systems. To do so, they have had to balance the two pressing priorities of economic concerns with public health implications.
