This series encompasses a range of speaker events throughout the academic year, where we invite guests to join us in exploring vital topics about scientific rigor, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We are proud to foster meaningful conversations that transcend our classrooms and laboratories, connecting with a global audience. Our goal is to effect positive change, not just within our local community of New Haven, Connecticut, but also on a national and international scale.

Leaders in Public Health: Dr. José Bauermeister
José Bauermeister is the Founding Faculty Director of the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania, and Albert M. Greenfield University Professor of Human Relations. José received his bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico, and his graduate degrees in public health from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania, José was faculty in the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health where he was the founding director of the Center for Sexuality and Health Disparities.
