Initiatives
Initiative #3a: Plan and build a new, identity-defining building
- Design collaborative spaces – physical and other – that define the identity of the school, and that allow for engagement within and outside of YSPH
- Ensure environmental sustainability, accessibility, and healthfulness of building
- Complete a successful transition plan to enhance the sense of community between now and the completion of the new building
Initiative #3b: Create systems and structures that enhance interconnected, inclusive, and interdisciplinary communities within YSPH
- Grow opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to engage with one another, both in person and virtually
- Define, recruit, and support faculty, students and staff with a wide diversity of lived experiences
- Intentionally create space and programming for civil discourse and rigorous interdisciplinary scholarship on public health challenges (See also: 2b)
Initiative #3c: Create systems and structures that enhance interconnected, inclusive, and interdisciplinary public health work across Yale
- Build financial and administrative support for the full spectrum of dual degrees between YSPH and other Yale schools
- Develop research, educational, and practice programming with at least three other schools at Yale
- Conduct recurring shared convenings/events with other schools and units at Yale
- Continue to advance and enhance university plans for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Initiative #3d: Create systems and structures that enhance our role within an interconnected, inclusive, and interdisciplinary New Haven and Connecticut public health community
