AI Agents for Biomedical Discoveries

AI agents are transforming how we do science. In this talk, Dr. James Zou will showcase how intelligent, tool-using language models are accelerating discovery and improving peer review. He’ll introduce Virtual Lab, where AI scientist agents collaborate to solve research problems—like designing nanobody treatments for COVID-19 variants. He’ll also demo CellVoyager, which uncovers insights from complex genomics data, and Review Feedback Agent, used at ICLR 2025 to enhance over 20,000 peer reviews. The tutorial will highlight lessons from building and deploying these systems—and what they mean for the future of research.
