    Allison will support the development of CT Clinical Quality Management for the Ryan White Part B Program using Quality Improvement methods, including PDSAs.

    Amy will assist in evaluating best practices from other public health agencies to inform a review and approval process for PSO applications.

    Andja will support the development of a grant resource library by researching public health topics and compiling data under the guidance of WHD leadership.

    Agency: CT Oral Health Initiative

    Callie will support grassroots public health campaigns to improve oral health access among Medicaid recipients, assist with policy research, and contribute to a grant project focused on strengthening the HUSKY Dental provider network.

    Agency: CT Department of Public Health/Policy and Strategic Initiatives

    Andrew will assist with regulatory research to support two commissioner-priority initiatives focused on overhauling regulations for nursing homes and outpatient clinics.

    Emily will support the Norwalk Health Department by strengthening emergency response tools, including volunteer management, partner outreach, and preparedness for populations with disabilities.

    Agency: CT Department of Public Health / Office of Public Health Workforce Development

    Emma will support the Office of Public Health Workforce Development by enhancing the employee wellness program with walking clubs, conducting staff interviews, creating a marketing plan to boost participation, and implementing a tracking system for engagement and timely information dissemination through a dashboard.

    Agency: Middletown Health Department

    Gianna will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating community health programs, gaining experience in health education, outreach, and public health preparedness.

  • Hannah Shimer

    Regis College

    Agency: CT Department of Public Health / Community, Family Health, and Prevention Branch

    Hannah will develop analyses related to BRFSS indicators for diabetes, cardiovascular health, and brain health/ Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) and their risk factors and produce a poster presentation describing the process and findings.

  • Haydelisa Feliciano

    Southern Connecticut State University

    Agency: Planned Parenthood of Southern New England

    Haydelisa Feliciano will be completing required clinical and research training, supporting study coordination, assisting with IRB submissions, data entry, patient scheduling, and administrative functions, while also working directly with clinic staff to support research and clinical services. The intern will collaborate with multiple departments and external partners on data analysis, reporting, public health assessments, and community outreach projects, with specific responsibilities tailored based on agency needs and academic interests.

    Western Connecticut State University

    Agency: Danbury Department of Health & Human Services

    Katie will support the department by shadowing and assisting staff across various divisions of the Danbury Department of Health and Human Services, completing projects and outreach activities aligned with both departmental and university requirements, and gaining hands-on experience in local public health functions, collaboration, and emergency preparedness.

    Agency: CT Department of Public Health/Office of Public Health Workforce Development

    Keara will support the development and promotion of DPH employee walking clubs by conducting staff interviews, creating a marketing plan, and helping implement a system to track participation.

  • Jodie Allen

    Agency: CT Department of Public Health/Infectious Disease

    Jodie will assist with the epidemiological follow-up of foodborne and enteric diseases, including case interviews, data entry, quality assurance, and coordination with local health departments and DPH teams.

    Lindsey will support NHD’s Administration & Operations division by assisting with clinic operations, collecting environmental health data, and contributing to a quality improvement project to streamline reception processes and field deployment protocols.

    Shannon will assist in developing a grant resource library by researching key public health topics.

  • Sharlyne Naubert

    Agency: Health Education Center in Norwich

    Sharlyne will assist with planning and coordinating HEC’s Global Youth Service Day event and delivering public health education to high school students through the Public Health Ambassador program. Her work will include event logistics, community outreach, and promoting public health careers.

    Samantha will support activities related to collecting and analyzing disaggregated local data across Connecticut.

    Trinity will create outreach materials from Community Health Assessment data and engage residents to identify barriers to health improvement.

    Yolanda will support with data analysis by using SAS to process BRFSS survey results, develop health indicator reports, and assist with preparing and presenting findings to the public health team.
