Biography
Jonathan Bates, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Yale Center for Medical Informatics specializing in machine learning. From 2015 to 2017, he was an Associate Research Scientist in Applied Mathematics, Cardiology, and Emergency Medicine at Yale University and the Yale School of Medicine and a member of the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation at Yale-New Haven Hospital. His research covers topics in machine learning, medical imaging, text mining, natural language processing, cohort selection, social network analysis, manifold learning, signal processing, and causal inference. Dr. Bates received his doctorate in Biomathematics from Florida State University in 2013 and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medical Informatics at VA Connecticut/Yale in 2015.
