YSPH-SBS 525 Seminar Series: Marina Marmolejo, Director of Housing Innovation, Connecticut Department of Housing
Marina Marmolejo is the Director of Housing Innovation at the Connecticut Department of Housing, where she leads efforts to address housing insecurity and homelessness through technology and data-driven solutions. Immediately after graduating from YSPH, Marina launched DreamKit, a digital platform that gamifies the job learning experience for unhoused youth in New Haven. After DreamKit, Marina started at the CT Department of Housing to manage over $400 million in COVID relief funds, significantly improving housing stability for vulnerable renters in Connecticut. Her work integrates public health principles with tech innovation, aiming to modernize outdated systems and streamline access to essential services. A recognized leader in housing and social justice, Marina’s focus is on creating sustainable, scalable solutions that improve both policy and health outcomes for marginalized populations. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation of public health professionals to drive systemic change through innovation and collaboration.
