Jennifer Marlon, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Scientist at the Yale School of the Environment, the Executive Director of the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions, and a lecturer in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. In her research, Dr. Marlon uses surveys, experiments, and modeling to understand public perceptions of and responses to rapid environmental changes, particularly relating to climate and extreme weather events. Dr. Marlon also studies climate change and wildfires over millennia using natural archives, such as lake sediments and ice core records. She has pioneered data-driven tools that enhance public engagement with climate issues. As the former Director of Data Science at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC), she led the development of influential resources such as the Yale Climate Opinion Maps, Yale Climate Fact Sheets, and the Six Americas Super Short Survey (SASSY). She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles published in leading journals.
