On April 13, Yale Biomedical Informatics & Computing's Research Informatics Office (RIO) hosted the inaugural Yale Cosmos Datathon at 101 College Street. Designed for researchers and clinicians at all skill levels, the expert-led event brought teams together to explore real-world clinical data using the Epic Cosmos database — a de-identified electronic health record (EHR) dataset spanning 300 million patient records. Epic research and development staff were on-site throughout the day, providing live support as participants addressed clinical research questions. The day featured an introductory session, dedicated work periods, and closing presentations where teams shared their findings.
