Members of Yale University were honored at the 2026 Translational Science meeting by the Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS).
Lucila Ohno-Machado, MD, PhD, MBA, deputy dean for biomedical informatics and chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science, has been named the recipient of the ACTS Edward H. Ahrens, Jr. Distinguished Investigator Award, one of the organization's most prestigious honors, celebrating exceptional and sustained contributions to the field of clinical and translational science.
Karen Wang, MD, MHS, assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine, received the JCTS Publication Award for her paper, Identifying incarceration status in the electronic health record using large language models in emergency department settings, published in the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science. Her research uses large language models to help identify and better serve patients involved with the justice system in emergency departments and advances health equity.
Kathleen Fitzpatrick Rosenbaum, PhD, MHS, RN, CCRN, postdoctoral fellow at Yale School of Nursing, received the ACTS Outstanding Trainee: Post-Doctoral Award. Her research uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines nursing, health economics, and health equity.
