YSPH EMD Seminar Series: "Infectious Diseases among People Who Inject Drugs"

In this presentation, Dr. Stopka will focus on infectious diseases among people who inject drugs (PWID). He will review the history and epidemiology of infectious diseases among PWID, discuss historical and current harm reduction strategies and public health responses. He will also provide an overview of qualitative, quantitative, and spatial epidemiological research methodologies used to assess infectious disease risks among PWID in local communities, and to inform targeted policy, public health, and clinical responses to curb infection rates and related comorbidities.
