Getting Started With Claude

A hands-on introduction to the Claude app for anyone. You'll practice prompting on everyday academic, clinical-education, and administrative tasks, set up a Project, and learn which settings matter when your work is sensitive. We'll also cover help with the literature, take a brief look at Cowork, and practice checking Claude's answers before you use them. Bring a laptop with your Claude account set up.

Learning objectives

By the end of this class, you'll be able to:

1. Explain how Claude's tools and versions differ.
2. Apply prompting patterns and Projects to everyday work.
3. Compare Claude's settings and data rules for sensitive work.
4. Evaluate Claude's answers and citations before you use them
