CMIPS Seminar: Cara Lewis "A Research Agenda to Advance the Study of Implementation Mechanisms"
This talk will present a research agenda to advance the study of implementation mechanisms resulting from a 3-year conference grant funded by the Agency for HealthCare Research and Quality (R13HS025632). Implementation mechanisms are the processes through which strategies exert their effects; they explain how strategies work. Establishing implementation mechanisms can help optimize implementation for equity, impact, and efficiency. Yet, empirical investigations of implementation mechanisms remain rare due to conceptual, methodological, theoretical, and practical challenges. This talk will offer concrete, actionable priorities and possible actions that can rapidly advance this line of inquiry to have a scientific and practical impact.
