Biography
I am currently working as a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Serap Aksoy's research group within the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. My primary research focus is centered on unraveling the complexities of Trypanosome infection establishment in mammalian hosts at the bite site of the Tsetse fly, with a particular emphasis on investigating the potential transmission-blocking vaccine candidates. My academic background is firmly rooted in immuno-parasitology, particularly focusing on Trypanosomiasis. Throughout my doctoral studies at Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel, I conducted research on the chronic immuno-pathology induced by the Trypanosoma brucei evansi parasite in an experimental mouse model.
