Cannabis Research Webinar Series: Moderators and Mechanisms of Cannabis Withdrawal and Genetic pleiotropy differentially linking brain variation to cannabis use and cannabis use disorder
Yale Center for the Science of Cannabis and Cannabinoids Monthly Webinar Series
You are invited to attend the May YC-SCAN2 Webinar, featuring two presentations on the clinical, neurobiological, and genetic factors underlying cannabis use and withdrawal. Led by Rachel Rabin, PhD, Moderators and Mechanisms of Cannabis Withdrawal will examine how factors such as biological sex, co-use of other substances, and endocannabinoid system dynamics influence variability in withdrawal during abstinence. Renato Polimanti, PhD, MSc, will present Genetic Pleiotropy Differentially Linking Brain Variation to Cannabis Use and Cannabis Use Disorder, highlighting how integrated genomic and brain imaging data reveal distinct neurobiological pathways and genetic architectures associated with cannabis use versus cannabis use disorder. Together, these talks provide timely insights into the mechanisms driving both therapeutic effects and risks as cannabis use continues to expand worldwide. This lecture is approved for CME credit.
