Student-led Conference Addresses the Role of AI in Health Care
Health Care Systems and Policy
Around the world, health care systems are struggling to deliver high-quality, high-value, patient-centered care in the face of limited budgets and rising medical costs, combined with rapid changes in the practices and organization of health care providers.
At the Yale School of Public Health, our experts are uncovering the factors that shape current practices, along with pioneering innovative approaches from unique interdisciplinary perspectives.
Over the past several decades, our faculty have conducted path-breaking research that examines:
- The impact of health-insurance reforms on health care quality
- The scope and effects of variation in health care prices
- The role of enhanced medical consumerism in shaping health-system performance
- The development of innovative approaches to assess patient experience, deploy feedback from patients to make health care more responsive, humane and better in quality
- The consequences of public policies that incentivize or regulate aspects of the health care system
- Innovative methods for assessing the cost-effectiveness of new policy approaches
- Health care and mental health outcomes
- Leveraging physician networks to improve quality of care and outcomes
