Biography
Dr. Rafael Lopes is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Epidemiology
of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health. He develops computational models to understand, as well as predict, the ecological succession of variants of SARS-CoV-2 and its burdens for infections, hospitalizations, and deaths. Through data analysis of genomic sequence data and epidemiological data, he aims to quantify the impacts of these arms race processes and their impacts
on public health.
