Biography

Dr. Brian Wahl is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health. He has worked for almost twenty years to advance the prevention and control of infectious diseases in low- and middle-income countries, with a particular focus on improving child health. Dr. Wahl leads field studies and uses modeling to address questions about public health program performance, optimization, and equity. He is also passionate about strengthening public health research and epidemiology competencies among health professionals in various settings, including in South Asia. Dr. Wahl focuses on building partnerships that prioritize locally led solutions supported by academic research to address longstanding and emerging public health challenges. Dr. Wahl earned his MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics and his PhD in global disease epidemiology and control from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
