EMD Seminar Series: Andrea Gloria-Soria - "Mosquito genomics for vector control”

Control of mosquito-borne viral diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, and West Nile virus relies on personal protection and control of mosquito populations. Two of the major challenges for vector control are new introduction of vectors to an area and development of insecticide resistance. This talk will illustrate how we can use genomic information to directly inform vector control and improve its outcome, using Aedes aegypti and Culex pipiens as examples.
