YSPH Climate Change and Health Seminar, "Climate Politics from the Age of Oil to the End of History," with Dr. Leah Aronowsky

Leah Aronowsky is Assistant Professor at the Columbia Climate School, where she researches and teaches on the history of climate and energy politics. She received a PhD in History of Science from Harvard University. Her research has been recognized by several awards, including the Rachel Carson Prize for best dissertation by the American Society for Environmental History. Before joining the Climate School, she held postdoctoral positions at the University of Illinois and the Columbia Society of Fellows. Her peer-reviewed articles have appeared in journals that include Critical Inquiry, Environmental History, and Environmental Humanities. She also writes on contemporary climate-related topics in public-facing outlets like The Guardian, Foreign Policy, The National, and the New York Review of Books. She is writing a book on the twin histories of climate and energy politics since the 1970s.
