The Effect of Risk Factor Misclassification on the Partial Population Attributable Risk
With Biostatistics Ph.D. student Benedict Wong, for whom I serve as primary thesis advisor, we studied the effect of risk factor misclassification on the expected value of the partial population attributable risk (pPAR), which is used to quantify the expected impact of preventive interventions, such as reducing exposure to radon on lung cancer mortality. Ben submitted this manuscript to Statistics in Medicine and it is now Published. For the work done in this paper, Ben was awarded (one of) the American Statistical Association’s 2017 SIE Young Investigator Award(s). We have started working on two papers on Bayesian and frequentist approaches for estimation and inference for the pPAR in the presence of risk factor misclassification.
