Six individuals who were nominated by their mentees for their excellence have received Mentor Awards from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, in conjunction with the Yale Postdoctoral Association’s Mentorship Committee. The mentors were cited for their availability, feedback, and ability to build trust and belonging, as well as developing their mentees’ research skills and independence and supporting their careers. The three faculty winners of the award are Paulo Brando, PhD, associate professor of ecosystem carbon capture; Kai Chen, PhD, associate professor of epidemiology; and Michael G. Nanna, MD, assistant professor of internal medicine. Postdoctoral mentors honored were Faihaa Dafalla, PhD, postdoctoral associate in epidemiology of microbial diseases; Antoneta Gavoci, PhD, postdoctoral associate in neuroscience; and Jennifer J. Park, PhD, postdoctoral associate in psychiatry.
