Biography

Dr. Thindwa is Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health, Yale University. He applies mathematical and statistical methods to epidemiological datasets of viruses and bacteria to understand their disease epidemiology and transmission dynamics in order to inform public health prevention and control measures.

Deus's primary research focuses on investigating the transmission dynamics of Streptococcus pneumoniae, the intricate of expanding pneumococcal vaccination landscape, and their impact on pneumococcal carriage and subsequent disease across populations. He has secondary interest in understanding the dynamics of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and in measuring the public health impact of RSV interventions such as maternal vaccines or monoclonal antibodies on RSV disease.
