  • Consumer Welfare and Environmental Effects of Registration Fees and Driving Fees in Denmark
    Australia; Denmark; United States (2011-2014)
This project develops a novel dynamic model of vehicle choice and driving to examine policies in Denmark to reduce greenhouse gas and air pollution emissions from the light duty vehicle fleet. The policy under consideration would lower the extremely high new vehicle registration tax in Denmark, and replace it with a per kilometer-driven fee for driving. The project will estimate both the consumer welfare effects and the environmental implications of such a policy change.
