JAMA Oncology kicked off 2024 for YCC with Immunotherapy Initiation at the End of Life in Patients With Metastatic Cancer in the US. The study’s senior author, Dr. Sajid Khan, is section chief of hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) and mixed tumors at Yale School of Medicine. The study drew headlines on OncLive, Medscape, the Cancer Network and others and a JAMA Oncology podcast.

In other publication news, a chance encounter at the recent Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) meeting in San Diego led to Yale’s Alessandro Santin, MD, learning he and the gynecologic oncology research/clinical team had been named in an article in a July 2023 issue of Medicine. The article, Bibliometric and visualized analysis of the top-100 highly cited articles on immunotherapy for endometrial cancer, concluded: “The attention of researchers from different countries to EC immunotherapy, especially immunosuppressants, has brought a breakthrough in this field.” Yale was singled out for ranking first, followed by MSKCC, for citations in endometrial cancer immunotherapy research worldwide in the period studied.
