Maria Flothkötter

Maria Flothkötter obtained her diploma in Nutrition at the University of Bonn. In 2009 she developed and now manages the German nationwide Gesund ins Leben (Healthy Start - Young Family Network). The main focus of the network is to promote a healthy lifestyle in young families during pregnancy and for the first 3 years of children’s lives. Ms. Flothkötter is part of several European networks: JANPA - early interventions to stem the rise of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents - and EPHNA - Public Health communication. Prior to 2009, her research/work comprised health promotion in early childhood as well as prevention and therapy for obesity and overweight children.
