YSPH International Pre-Departure Preparation Workshop

This half-day workshop is designed to assist with preparing for travel abroad for Yale affiliated projects. It is interactive and includes group discussions of case studies, practical applications, a moderated panel, and other networking activities.

Topics: Yale travel safety resources and protocols, personal health and safety, global health practice and research ethics, student and faculty experience panel, in addition to other region/country specific small group breakouts.

This workshop is required for all 1st year MPH students* traveling internationally for their summer APE, or internship, as well as working in other global health capacities (ex: domestic or in a high-income country). YSPH sponsored summer funding will not be disbursed until verified completion.

*All Downs Fellowship recipients, regardless of their school/program affiliation, are also required to complete the workshop.

All registrants will have access to the Canvas site “Preparing for Global Health Experiences”. This site includes a multitude of important Yale resources, and other materials needed to prepare for the workshop (where applicable). Any required (or recommended) materials or logistical actions will be communicated through this platform.
