Trainees

  • Leslie Arrazolo is a first-year PhD student in the Chemical and Environmental Engineering department studying electrochemical water purification systems. Her current focus is the study of catalyst stability in the electrocatalytic production of hydrogen peroxide for sustainable advanced oxidation processes. Leslie is very excited to be part of this project as it combines her interests in chemical reactions and public health.
  • Seung Hee Chae is a second-year PhD student in the chemical and environmental engineering department. Her research focus lies on the advanced oxidation process (AOP) for water treatment. Currently, she is working on generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) with nanobubbles to degrade 1,4-dioxane.
  • Fintan Mooney
Fintan (Fin) Mooney is an MPH Candidate in the Environmental Health Sciences department at the Yale School of Public Health. Fin found a passion in critically analyzing geographies and health inequities while completing his Masters in Community Development and Planning at Clark University. Currently, Fin is using GIS methodologies to identify environmental and structural vulnerabilities to contaminants derived from Superfund sites.
  • Xiao Shi
Meet Yale Superfund Research Center's, Xiao Shi.
  • Yewei Wang is a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in the department of Environmental Health Science at the Yale School of Public Health. She investigates the studies of DX metabolism and mechanisms underpinning DX toxicity and carcinogenicity as part of her dissertation project, especially the role of oxidative stress in DX-induced liver genotoxicity and carcinogenicity.
