Eugenia Chock, MD, MPH

Systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases disproportionately affect women and represent a growing global health burden. Despite advances in treatment, substantial gaps remain in understanding how these diseases and their therapies affect women's health across the reproductive life course.

Dr. Chock is a federally funded physician-scientist at Yale School of Medicine whose research focuses on advancing women's health and maternal-child outcomes among individuals with rheumatic diseases. She is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Chock leads the PRIME Lab (Pharmacoepidemiology & Real-world data for Immune-mediated disease in Maternal–child Epidemiology), which integrates advanced pharmacoepidemiologic and perinatal epidemiologic methods, machine learning, and real-world patient data to generate clinically actionable evidence. Her research aims to improve early disease detection, optimize medication safety and effectiveness, and inform personalized treatment strategies for women with rheumatic diseases throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

Dr. Chock also co-leads the Yale Pharmacoepidemiology Workgroup, which focuses on interdisciplinary collaborations and methodological innovation across clinical and population health research. As a practicing rheumatologist, she provides specialized care for patients with reproductive health needs, collaborating closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and other specialties to bridge scientific discovery and clinical practice.

Her overarching mission is to translate real-world data into meaningful improvements in the health of women and children affected by systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases.
