Leaders in Public Health featuring Kat McDavitt
Join Dean Megan Ranney and Kat McDavitt, President of Innsena, for a fireside chat.
Kat McDavitt is president and founding partner of Innsena, an external affairs consultancy specializing in health data strategy, market access, and public affairs for healthcare technology organizations.
Kat is a nationally recognized leader in health data exchange, with deep expertise in data acquisition strategy and the negotiation of data use agreements involving sensitive patient information. She has brokered data sharing agreements between state agencies, health systems, payers, and technology companies across the United States — including partnerships directly supporting Medicaid populations. Her work has centered on advancing interoperability and connected health infrastructure to improve outcomes for vulnerable communities, including mothers and infants affected by opioid use disorder.
Beyond Innsena, Kat channels her commitment to healthcare and public health across several ventures. She is founder and CEO of the Zorya Foundation, a 501(c)(3) providing cash childcare grants to women working in healthcare — directly addressing workforce shortages that affect the delivery of care in communities across the country. She is general partner and co-founder of Pelium Group, an investment firm backing early-stage digital health companies, and a limited partner in Oncology Ventures. She is also the founder and host of the Health Tech Talk Show, a weekly live program with over 3,500 viewers covering health IT policy, interoperability, and industry trends.
She is a frequent speaker on public health communication and health data policy, having in the past year presented at AcademyHealth's Annual Research Meeting, ViVE, HLTH, HIMSS, the Association for State and Territorial Health Officials Executive Leadership Forum, and the eHealth Exchange Annual Summit, among others. She serves as 2026 co-chair of Health Datapalooza and on the policy committee of AcademyHealth.
The Leaders in Public Health Series is open to active Yale community members only for in-person attendance. The general public is welcome and encouraged to participate via the Zoom link provided. Thank you for your understanding.
