Biography
Kali Bechtold is the System Director of Experience Design and Strategy at UCHealth in Colorado and Lecturer of Health Policy and Management at the Yale School of Public Health. She brings an interdisciplinary lens to training, capacity building, and systems change, blending human-centered design with over 15 years of experience across industries, healthcare, and global public health.
A certified Design Thinking practitioner through MIT's Sloan School of Management, Ms. Bechtold has spent her career using design to drive meaningful impact — from her work as a cross-industry consultant, where she partnered with organizations to reimagine products, services, and experiences, to her current role leading UCHealth's patient-facing strategies, where she applies human-centered methods to improve how patients experience care.
Ms. Bechtold has led initiatives spanning public health, healthcare delivery, and organizational development — designing programs, coaching teams, and building capacity for professionals navigating complex challenges in the United States and around the world. Her approach consistently prioritizes adaptive, human-centered methods that equip individuals and teams to lead with both competence and creativity.
Ms. Bechtold holds an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. She serves as Director of Strategy and Experience Design at UCHealth, Colorado's largest health system with 15 hospitals and hundreds of clinics, and as Lecturer of Health Policy and Management at the Yale School of Public Health, where she teaches Design Thinking.
