EMD Seminar Series: Professor Ilaria Dorigatti, PhD - “Arbovirus transmission and control under a changing climate: knowns, unknowns and opportunities ahead"

Despite scientific consensus that climate is a key drier of the global expansion of Aedes mosquitoes, the effects of climate and climate change on arbovirus transmission dynamics remain incompletely understood. Professor Dorigatti will present a novel mechanistic modeling framework being developed to examine changes in transmission seasonality and the average age of infection, while integrating climate with the impact of control interventions. She will discuss the challenges and opportunities climate change poses for arbovirus control and the importance of generating real-world evidence on transmission intensity and intervention impacts.
