ResearchDetails01/01/2006 - 01/01/2007China; IndiaAbstract/SynopsisProfessor Cooke teaches a graduate seminar entitled "The Globalization of Modern Craft," based on his experiences meeting craft leaders in China and India during sabbatical travels in 2006-7. These travels have also led to a paper entitled "Why Material Culture Matters in the 21st Century: Musings from India;" this work was the James C. Curtis Commencement Lecture for the Winterthur Program in American Culture.
