Zhen Chen

Dr. Zhen Chen is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science at Yale University, working with Prof. Qingyu Chen and Prof. Hua Xu. Prior to that, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2022 to 2024. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong in 2022 and worked as Postdoctoral Fellow, advised by Prof. Yixuan Yuan. He received the M.Phil. degree in Information Science, University of Science and Technology of China in 2019, and the B.Eng. degree in Information Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2016 with the admission to XJTU-CASIA Automation Elite Class.

Dr. Chen focuses on AI for Healthcare. His research aligns with the human healthcare pathway, including multimodal clinical diagnosis, surgery intervention, and medical foundation models to support the intelligent healthcare system. In recognition of the research in AI-assisted diagnosis and surgery, he won the Hong Kong Young Scientist Award 2023, as the only winner in the engineering field of Hong Kong.
